How Shipping Works
LTC is a marketplace. Sellers ship orders to buyers, and buyers can see shipment status and whether an order is shipped with tracking or without tracking.
Important: Orders over $50 require tracking.
1. Shipping status you may see
- Paid / Processing: the order is confirmed and preparing for shipment.
- Shipped (Tracked): tracking is provided and will update as the carrier scans the package.
- Shipped (Untracked): shipped without tracking (only allowed under $50).
- Delivered: carrier (or seller confirmation for untracked) indicates delivery is complete.
For untracked shipments, delivery confirmation can be limited. If you want the strongest delivery proof, choose tracked shipments when available.
2. Tracking, insurance, and signature by order value
Some protections are applied automatically based on your order’s total, and a seller can’t lower them. Tracking, insurance, and signature confirmation each become required as the order value goes up.
| Order total | Tracking | Insurance | Signature |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under $20 | Optional | Optional | Optional |
| $20 – $49.99 | Recommended | Optional | Optional |
| $50 – $99.99 | Required | Included | Optional |
| $100 – $749.99 | Required | Required | Optional |
| $750+ | Required | Required | Required |
If an order ships with tracking, you’ll see the tracking number and live carrier scans in your account. Signature confirmation means an adult needs to be available to sign for the package when it’s delivered, so orders of $750 or more can’t be left unattended.
3. Shipping labels on LTC
Sellers can purchase shipping labels through LTC (when available), which helps standardize shipping and make tracking easy to attach to an order. Buyers don’t need to do anything extra. You’ll simply see tracked/untracked status and any tracking details in your account, or on the Track Your Order page.
4. If something goes wrong
- Tracking stuck / delayed: give it a bit (carriers miss scans), then message the seller if it hasn’t moved.
- Marked delivered but not received: check your delivery area/household, then message the seller with the tracking details.
- Arrived damaged / wrong item: take clear photos of the item and packaging and message the seller immediately.
- No tracking (untracked): message the seller for timeline expectations and keep communication in writing.
For returns/refunds, see Return Policy and Satisfaction Guarantee.
5. Seller shipping standards
If you want the seller-side packaging/shipping requirements, read the seller guide here: Seller Shipping Guidelines.
This buyer-facing page is about what you’ll see and how tracking works on the platform.
